And here's what Steve Meacham of the SMH said about Ruwenzori:
"Such is the charm of Ruwenzori that ... we really didn't want to move. In fact, for the first time in my life, I had to be forced into a vineyard tour." You can read the rest of the article by clicking here.

What a wonderful place Ruwenzori is, and what a fantastic time we had there. We had the whole family, from the toddler to the great grandma in her nineties there for a special celebration. We chatted and ate and walked the bush trails and ate and chatted and played various of the supplied games and chatted some more. So many spots, both inside and out, to sit down and take in the glorious views. Add a games room, a kitchen with everything that opens and shuts, a dining table big enough for all of us, bedrooms and bathrooms that suited us perfectly, and all in that beautifully opulent old railway theme. There are too many features for me to list them all. We spent the whole weekend exploring them and probably still didn’t notice everything. I have been dining out on it ever since, and recommending it to all my friends. Jock Brodie
We went to Mudgee for my mother in laws' 70th birthday weekend and to visit her' birth place - just outside Mudgee. We wanted a special place for dinner and accommodation for 6 of the guests, so we stayed on the beautifully restored trains for the weekend. More of us could have stayed but they had already booked accommodation else where. At the owner Scotts' suggestion, we had the dinner party outside on the lawn. We could have dined inside on the enormous dining table, but the view is just too exceptional from the lawn. So he hooked us up with an awesome (reasonably priced) caterer who came and cooked us a delicious meal/cake then washed up and disappeared, all at the appropriate times. We had 12 adults and 6 children for the dinner. The caterer also organised delicious picnic baskets for the trip to the old farm. Yum. It is a very special place. I can not describe the beauty of the sunset over the plains below, as we sipped champagne around a giant log fire. My boys were obsessed with the trains in the garden and loved sleeping in the sleeping bunks on the carriage. Thank you Scott. Your devotion and passion for all things 'railway' made our stay something we will never forget. A very beautiful place. Penny Pedersen
Everywhere I looked there was something to discover and laugh joyfully and admire.
This is such a special place to stay. The trains are beautifully restored, wonderfully comfortable, and the views - in all directions - are magic. You can spend hours investigating the marvellous railway and other quirky collectables all over the place, and there are lovely walks over ridges and into valleys.Anne Hinchliffe
Can you keep the place a secret for those of us who have enjoyed it please? Michael Buechner
It was more than we imagined it would be - everyone should treat themselves to something special and Ruwenzori is it. William Yull
The kitchen facilites at Ruwenzori are equipped better than any other guest house we've stayed in. The beds are perfect- we felt like royalty! Julie Cairst
It was all the little things...the pre-empting of needs especially - you just opened up a cupboard or drawer and it was all there.Paul and Bernadette Traynor
