Fresh is best for Commercial Street Subway (Border Watch)

BEST IN SA: Mount Gambier’s Subway store located on Commercial Street was recently name the South Australian Store of the Year.

MOUNT Gambier’s creative sandwich artists have been recognised as the best in the state at a recent awards ceremony in Adelaide. The Commercial Street Subway store was applauded by its peers when it was presented the South Australian Store of the Year award.

The store has been under the On The Run banner for 12 months after the franchisee retired last year. Despite the change, staff kept their employment and have continued to service quality food and beverages with a smile.

Subway Area Manager, Jane Atkinson, said her team won the award based on customer feedback, quality training and development practices and outstanding sales results.

“To provide a first-class service to our customers, we place a huge priority on the training and ongoing development of all our team members,” she said.

“There is always room for improvement and it is because we have a learning culture.”

She said staff took pride in their work. “Customer service is so important and we have worked hard to give our customers the best experience possible, we know all our regulars by name and the sandwiches they order,” Ms Atkinson said.

“As a store, we decided we wanted to aim for store of the year and have our team recognised for all their hard work and we won, which is great.”

The Subway store located in Mount Gambier Central also made the list of the top seven stores in the state.
